Cardan's letters

Image
Cardan's letters to Jude By Antares Everyone knows I am madly in love with Cardan Greenbriar. This post is basically a spoiler to those who haven't read The Wicked King. So if you haven't, I'll kindly advise you to read it, then come back here to read my banter on these heart-wrenching letters Cardan wrote to Jude. This isn't the letter, but Cardan wrote it in The Cruel Prince when Jude haunted his thoughts all the time. And it was one of the dorkish things he's ever done while think he was doing something disgusting . Jude, evermore, thought this piece of sheet displayed his hatred.  This might not be the famous letters he wrote to Jude when she was in exile, but it still is one of the best things. (This paper isn't the one from the book, but I like this version better) This is the first letter I'll be talking about. If you're wondering where the letters are from, it is from Barnes and Noble special edition, and I doubt everyone has so I'm sha...

Start writing you procrastinator!

Image
Start writing, you procrastinator! A lecture from a procrastinator, Antares. Every worker of art: writer, artist, musician or whatnot has suffered from this very common illness called Procrastination. What is procrastination?  So now you know. As a young and growing writer, I suffer from this greatly. And it is spreading from my writing to my personal life, for example, school work [quietly blames procrastination from writing for my lack of complete work]. The problem isn't how you get procrastination (Tumblr, Pinterest, regular laziness) it's how you get rid of it. How  do  you get rid of the feeling of not doing anything today but sit and scroll through some of your favourite fandoms' feed? Personally, I still don't have an answer. I search answers; I listen to aspiring podcast (lol, no), I ask for advice online (Which is stupid because half of the people are also procrastinators). But no such luck.  Until the day the shooting star in my head clashed, like t...

The Folk of the Air

Image
The Folk of the Air by Holly Black Review by Antares The Cruel Prince is a riveting story about a human girl in Faerieland and Fae prince so cruel, so heartless, no one expects any good from him. Jude Duarte. What do I have to say about her? First off, she is incredible . No sarcasm, I've never loved a female character like her. She is witty, brave, cunning and daring. I am unbelievably in love with her and Cardan. Like who couldn't love them? I love their individual development and their relationship development. Both were amazing . But do you know what I love about reading books like The Cruel Prince? The PAINNNNN! If you read all three books, you'll know what I mean. I LOVE Cardan and Jude so much it hurts. I love my OTP it hurts. I love their banters it hurts! Most of all, I love how well developed the stories are it hurts. I think I'm repeating myself. (Spoliers from now on) Here are few notes I got down (Which is surprising because I can't do anything but read...

What's the Word??

Image
Do you hate it when you can't remember a word? It's right at the tip of your tongue, but you still can't recall? I know you do. Every respectable writer and human being loathes themselves when the word comes to their mind when it's right below your nose. And it comes when? When you no longer need it. It bugs me day and night that I know this word, I know where I need to use it, I know how to use it but I don't know the word. It makes me want to rip my hair off my head. But to avoid such anger and annoyance I use this one website called https://www.onelook.com/ where not only does it give me the definition but also an entire thesaurus. For example, I needed the word Orchard however I couldn't remember instead the word farm kept coming to my mind. Farm wasn't the word I needed, but it was remarkably close to orchard. So once again my fellow word forgetors, if you are in an amiss of not recalling a certain word, use the closest word you can think of and One ...

Six of Crows Duology

Image
Wow. Wow. Wow. I can say that a hundred thousand more times and it still won't be enough. This duology is amazing! All the characters, the way Leigh laid the plot out, the development in the characters. I fell in love with every character and their faults. So unique, I'm famished. All quarantine, no book had made me feel this way: the desire to finish it in one whole sitting. And whenever I had to get up, it would be begrudgingly, as if I was being separated from a part of my soul. And even now, after finishing it, I want to sit once more through the rush of feelings, knowing what comes next.   The writing is flawless. Absolutely poetic. "Fear is a phoenix. You can watch it burn a thousand times and still it will return." And the humour is intact. Made me grin like a dork. "So why do I feel like finding a corner to sob in?" "This is a round room. There are no corners." "Matthias—" I don't want to give out spoilers in this review. No...

Supernova Review

Image
Supernova by Marissa Meyer Review by Antares Oh, my God. Is it over? Is the epilogue really the epilogue? So, you're telling me the two people I wanted to get reunited never happened? Marissa! WHY!? Supernova is the third and final book of the Renegades trilogy. And I am happy to say the ending has both exceeded my expectations and made me scream. Now, I don't want to give out any spoilers but be warned that there will be moments in the book that will make you cry, or at least be sad. I quite like how things turned out and the fact that both Nova and Adrien just went along with everything like nothing chaotic just happened. Many questions are answered, and it answers many reasons of villainous doings. I was right to suspect Ace and Phobia. They both never really passed the vibe check. Sketch's team would've been the most oblivious group of people there are if it weren't for Danna. And the Anarchists would've been doomed if it weren't for a special someone. G...

Archenemies Review

Image
Archenemies by Marissa Meyer Review by Antares Honestly, I felt something different for the first book, but that doesn't mean Archenemies is bad, it's a five star from me. I just think Renegades had me dying to know what will happen next while Archenemies has me murdering to know what happens next.  There was a splendid development in Nova. She didn't become non-anarchist. She's still a villain according to her mind and the Anarchists. But definitely softer than before.  I would be lying if I said I didn't feel second hand guilt throughout Archenemies, especially every time I was in Adrien's head. I had grown to like Callum, Oscar, Ruby, Hugh, Max and many more. Even all the anarchists, especially the Puppeteer. Although, I am having a bad feeling about Ace. I don't want to like Hugh or Simon or the rest of the Council, but they're awesome, lovable characters and I feel like Nova and I are missing a very important part about her childhood, I know it. Whi...
