What's the Word??

Image
Do you hate it when you can't remember a word? It's right at the tip of your tongue, but you still can't recall? I know you do. Every respectable writer and human being loathes themselves when the word comes to their mind when it's right below your nose. And it comes when? When you no longer need it. It bugs me day and night that I know this word, I know where I need to use it, I know how to use it but I don't know the word. It makes me want to rip my hair off my head. But to avoid such anger and annoyance I use this one website called https://www.onelook.com/ where not only does it give me the definition but also an entire thesaurus. For example, I needed the word Orchard however I couldn't remember instead the word farm kept coming to my mind. Farm wasn't the word I needed, but it was remarkably close to orchard. So once again my fellow word forgetors, if you are in an amiss of not recalling a certain word, use the closest word you can think of and One ...

Six of Crows Duology

Image
Wow. Wow. Wow. I can say that a hundred thousand more times and it still won't be enough. This duology is amazing! All the characters, the way Leigh laid the plot out, the development in the characters. I fell in love with every character and their faults. So unique, I'm famished. All quarantine, no book had made me feel this way: the desire to finish it in one whole sitting. And whenever I had to get up, it would be begrudgingly, as if I was being separated from a part of my soul. And even now, after finishing it, I want to sit once more through the rush of feelings, knowing what comes next.   The writing is flawless. Absolutely poetic. "Fear is a phoenix. You can watch it burn a thousand times and still it will return." And the humour is intact. Made me grin like a dork. "So why do I feel like finding a corner to sob in?" "This is a round room. There are no corners." "Matthias—" I don't want to give out spoilers in this review. No...

Supernova Review

Image
Supernova by Marissa Meyer Review by Antares Oh, my God. Is it over? Is the epilogue really the epilogue? So, you're telling me the two people I wanted to get reunited never happened? Marissa! WHY!? Supernova is the third and final book of the Renegades trilogy. And I am happy to say the ending has both exceeded my expectations and made me scream. Now, I don't want to give out any spoilers but be warned that there will be moments in the book that will make you cry, or at least be sad. I quite like how things turned out and the fact that both Nova and Adrien just went along with everything like nothing chaotic just happened. Many questions are answered, and it answers many reasons of villainous doings. I was right to suspect Ace and Phobia. They both never really passed the vibe check. Sketch's team would've been the most oblivious group of people there are if it weren't for Danna. And the Anarchists would've been doomed if it weren't for a special someone. G...

Archenemies Review

Image
Archenemies by Marissa Meyer Review by Antares Honestly, I felt something different for the first book, but that doesn't mean Archenemies is bad, it's a five star from me. I just think Renegades had me dying to know what will happen next while Archenemies has me murdering to know what happens next.  There was a splendid development in Nova. She didn't become non-anarchist. She's still a villain according to her mind and the Anarchists. But definitely softer than before.  I would be lying if I said I didn't feel second hand guilt throughout Archenemies, especially every time I was in Adrien's head. I had grown to like Callum, Oscar, Ruby, Hugh, Max and many more. Even all the anarchists, especially the Puppeteer. Although, I am having a bad feeling about Ace. I don't want to like Hugh or Simon or the rest of the Council, but they're awesome, lovable characters and I feel like Nova and I are missing a very important part about her childhood, I know it. Whi...

Renegades Review

Image
Renegades  By Marissa Meyer Review by Antares Renegades is an amazing book, no doubt about it. There are countless things I love about it, but the top is and always will be Nova Artino. The setting and the pace of the story is wonderful, I think this is one of the best ways a story explained its universe. The writing was strong yet simple. And the change in point of views is also one of the best things. To know what the other doesn't. [SPOILERS] I will rant a lot about Nova, so prepare yourself.  Nova Artino is an Anarchist. The Super Villain league led by Ace Anarchy until he died. The surviving Anarchists went into hiding. At first I didn't think I'd like Nova because you usually see villains killing off innocent people, but Nova had other views. And, honestly, I was on her side the whole time. She always had a fair argument. "Heroism wasn’t about what you could do, it was about what you did." She wasn't a fan of the Renegades, obviously, and they weren'...
